 Aún no es oficial pero ya puede ser descargada la versión 2.4.5 de Abiword, un estupendo procesador de textos gratuito y multi plataforma.
La versión dispone de una elegante interfaz, corrector ortográfico, regla interactiva, integración de estilos, unidos ilimitado, buscar, reemplazar, inseción de imágenes, etc...
Es compatible con la lectura de documentos Microsoft Word y RTF (Rich Text Format) y puede salvar los contenidos en formato HTML.
No obstante si algo podemos destacar de este procesador es su formato de ficheros nativo ".abw", un formato XML, que puede ser legible por cualquier editor de textos.
Abiword forma parte del proyecto AbiSource, que pretende desarrollar una suite ofimática libre y multi plataforma.
